Description:

The Azure Messaging team within Microsoft’s Azure Data division is looking for a Software Engineer II to help architect the next generation of high-throughput platform and control plane infrastructure. Handling tens of thousands of requests per second, this team builds the reliable distributed backbone for modern cloud applications across products like Azure Service Bus, Event Grid, and Microsoft Fabric. In this role, you will take ownership of high-impact components, write technical designs from high-level requirements, lead peer code reviews, and continuously scale system performance, fault tolerance, and live-site monitoring.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science (or a related technical field) with 3+ years of professional technical engineering experience.
• Solid coding and software design capability using core object-oriented or system languages (such as C#, C++, Java, or Python).
• At least 1+ years of practical experience working with distributed messaging engines (like Kafka, Azure Service Bus, RabbitMQ, or Pub/Sub) or real-time stream processing engines (like Spark or Flink).
• A strong understanding of core distributed concepts, including replication, partitioning, data consistency models, and failure recovery.
• Ability to transition code through complete test strategies, automated deployments, and actively support live-site health or on-call rotations.
• Ability to successfully pass standard corporate verification checks, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
• A Master's degree, 5+ years of software design experience, or a proven track record of mentoring junior engineers and leading design discussions across cloud components.
